Closing Time

By Jesse Morgan | June 22, 2008

So we’re finally closing on the house. We close on the 27th, and take possession on Sunday the 29th. We have a lot of work ahead of us.

The Todo list goes something like this after moving everything and getting settled:

Next up is things we should do over the next 2 months:

Items that we’ll need to buy immediately:

Anything else I’m missing?

    Two brooms
    Two mops
    Two mop buckets
    Trash bags
    Trash cans
    Duct tape
    Aluminum ladder
    Garden hose(s)
    2-3 plungers
Biggest multi-pack of Chlorox wipes that you can find at Costco/SAMS
Biggest multi-pack of paper towels that you can find at Costco/SAMS
Biggest multi-pack of TP that you can find at Costco/SAMS
    Door chains
Pole/type door locks if they fit your doors.
    Light bulbs

If you can buy all of that crap in one shot, you will probably save half a tank of gas because those are the things you will be buying 2-3 at a time over the first month at the house.

We already have the rocking chair, it’s just a matter of where to put it.

Let me see what I can do about a lawn mower but keep you eyes open. There is one out to mom’s that hasn’t been started in a few years. See if I can get it running.

the house has hard wood floors, right? If so, I would suggest getting some Pledge Wood Floor Cleaner. that is what we use on our floors - works wonderfully! Plus, you probably don’t know when the last time they cleaned the floors was and you should do that about every 2 - 3 months.
